Dreamy Night

Here is another shot taken at Yyteri beach, Finland. It was a beautiful night to walk around the beach alone. I think the light pollution gives this photograph dreamy atmosphere. I hope you like it!

Equipment & Exif

Nikon D800, Samyang 14 mm f/2.8, Sirui R-4203L tripod with K-40X ball head
ISO 6400, 14 mm, f/2.8, 30 sec.

Post-processing

For base edit I used my Fine Art Lightroom Preset: Landscape - Stars II. I also used one of my upcoming Lightroom presets to edit the colors here. No Photoshop was used to edit this one.

Dark Times II

It has been dark, rainy and we even had couple of foggy days. Here is a dreamy image from couple of my images. I included some detail shots on what lies in the image when you view it closely. I hope you like the image. Hope to have some light soon to this darkness.

Aurora Borealis

I had the chance to witness these beautiful lights of Aurora Borealis on one Summer night in Hanko, Finland. Usually we don't see these many times in the Southern part of Finland, but this time I got lucky.

Equipment:
Nikon D800, Nikon 16 - 35 mm f/4.0 VR
35 mm, f/4.0, ISO 6400 and 10 sec.

Technique & Software:
Manual focusing to infinity on the lens, and because of the strong changes in the Northern Lights, I had to use quite short exposure time to get those beautiful spikes like in the photo in the right side. I used Lightroom 5 to add some contrast and reduce the noise slightly.
