Everlasting Moment

A long night at the coast of Finland. For this photograph, I wanted to capture that everlasting and eternal feeling of movement and constancy. I captured this photograph on the same night as my previously published photograph Divided. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed to spend the whole night there.

Equipment & Exif

Nikon D800, Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 & Sirui Tripod R-4203L, and Sirui Ball Head K-40X
ISO 1600, 30 secs. f/2.8

Processing

I edited this photograph with my upcoming Lightroom Collection called Phase. The Collection should be available for the public to purchase by next week. I will be still making some changes to it and will be sending it for preview for three lucky owners of my previous Fine Art Preset Collection

Everlasting Moment, 2014 - Mikko Lagerstedt

Divided

The weather has been quite bad lately, so after glancing at the weather report, and finding out it should be clear skies for couple of hours near Pori, I had to go and take some star photos. I had an awesome trip. I drove around the area and captured couple of photographs. Here is first from the set.

The photograph is blended from two different exposure. First one was exposed for sky and the second was for the water/foreground.

Equipment & Exif

Nikon D800, Samyang 14 mm f/2.8, Sirui R-4203L Tripod & K-40X Ball Head, Apature Remote Controller

Sky Exposure: ISO 3200, 14 mm, f/2.8, 30 sec.
Foreground Exposure: ISO 100, 14 mm, f/8, 669 sec.

Post-processing

For the sky photograph, I used for base editing one of my Milky Way presets: Subtle II. For the foreground I adjusted contrast and clarity and boosted up the exposure. After the Lightroom settings were done, I used Photoshop to manually merge the exposures together.

I'm currently working on a Photoshop Action Pack, which will include my favorite adjustments inside Photoshop. Hopefully they will be available in couple of weeks.

Thanks for viewing, I hope you enjoy the photograph!

Divided - Mikko Lagerstedt 2014

Alone In The Light

While going through some of my photographs from last year, I came across with this one. A shot on a beautiful misty Summer morning, taken about a year ago. As the sun was rising I had my camera on my tripod and used my remote controller to trigger the camera.

Equipment

Nikon D800, Nikon 16 - 35 mm f/4.0 VR, Sirui R4203-L tripod & Hähnel Giga T Pro II remote controller.

Exif
ISO 100, f/5.6, 35 mm, 1/1600 sec.

Post-processing

Lightroom for color temperature, contrast and saturation. I also used one of my presets to base edit the photo: Morning Blues.
