Fine Art Print Shop

We have received numerous print inquiries, so we have worked long for an option to purchase my work directly from this website. The shop is now live! You can choose three different Hahnemühle fine art papers and various sizes for your preferred artwork. You can learn more about the printing materials here: Print Information.

If you didn't find a photograph, you would love to have a fine art print. You can contact us by emailing: mikko.lagerstedt@gmail.com and we will add it to the shop.

So what happens when you order a print? Here are the steps we make to provide our quality products:

  1. We receive the order information and review the picture, size, and paper choice
  2. Image sent to Dialab a Finnish fine art printing lab
  3. The print is delivered to be reviewed and signed by Mikko Lagerstedt
  4. Artwork packed
  5. Buyer receives delivery notification with a tracking code

And this all happens in a couple of days. The art buyer will receive the print within ten business days after the delivery notification.

Edge - Portfolio Book

For galleries I want to send examples of my images and the best way to do this is with a solid portfolio book. As my old books were not suitable for this due to the heavy use, I decided couple of days ago to order a new portfolio book "Edge" from a Finnish camera store Rajala Pro Shop and their new photo book. I just received it today safely wrapped inside a big envelope. I took some photographs of it and I must admit: it looks fantastic!

The first thing that struck me was the size and the thickness of the pages. It sure gives you a professional feeling, when the pages don't bend while going through the book. You can order it with 20 pages and the size is 30 cm x 30 cm, which is fantastic for showing quality pictures in decent size. I used square photos for my book so that I could fit more in the book. The overall quality of the book is superb! Colors, sharpness and detail are all well balanced.

I used matte finish on the cover. There is also a glossy finish available

If you want to prevent it for scratching over time I would recommend to go with a glossy finish

Here you can see how thick the pages are

The spreads look fantastic and the overall quality of the prints is excellent

Great sharpness and detail in the photographs

If you are located in Finland and you are searching for a book to show your work, or want to create a book for yourself  I highly recommend Rajala Pro Shop photo book: Rajala Kuvakirja

For those of you who would like to see a book with my pictures, I will be working on it in the future!

Everlasting Moment

A long night at the coast of Finland. For this photograph, I wanted to capture that everlasting and eternal feeling of movement and constancy. Divided

The weather has been quite bad lately, so after glancing at the weather report, and finding out it should be clear skies for couple of hours near Pori, I had to go and take some star photos. I had an awesome trip. I drove around the area and captured couple of photographs. Here is first from the set.

The photograph is blended from two different exposure. First one was exposed for sky and the second was for the water/foreground.

Equipment & Exif

Nikon D800, Samyang 14 mm f/2.8, Sirui R-4203L Tripod & K-40X Ball Head, Apature Remote Controller

Sky Exposure: ISO 3200, 14 mm, f/2.8, 30 sec.
Foreground Exposure: ISO 100, 14 mm, f/8, 669 sec.

Post-processing

For the sky photograph, I used for base editing one of my Milky Way presets: Subtle II. For the foreground I adjusted contrast and clarity and boosted up the exposure. After the Lightroom settings were done, I used Photoshop to manually merge the exposures together.

I'm currently working on a Photoshop Action Pack, which will include my favorite adjustments inside Photoshop. Hopefully they will be available in couple of weeks.

Thanks for viewing, I hope you enjoy the photograph!
