First Snow

Feeling inspired by the first snowfall of the season, I headed to one of my favorite spots near our home. There is always something magical about the first snow and how it lights up the landscape. The heavy snowfall and the beauty of the landscapes with calm water made me appreciate the moment. In the blizzard, I saw a fisherman going for his fish traps and rowing in the middle of the lake. The scenery sure looked like a still from a movie. I captured many photographs here and might publish some later.

After spending time at the first location, I decided to head to Järvenpää and photograph a spot I have been to many times and this time I had luck with the conditions. Not a single person in sight and no tracks in the snow I carefully made my way to the beach. Capturing the beach and lake and balancing the elements I saw a man approaching the scenery. I waited for some minutes before he was in the perfect spot.

From The Darkness

I have been photographing now every day for the past week and a half - it feels great. I have always thought, that my photography inspiration comes only time to time, but creating an old habit is far more inspiring to me. I have always loved to take long walks and enjoy fresh air and by taking my camera with me every day, it gives me inspiration to continue to do that. What are your old habits that you would want to start again?

A couple of days ago we had some beautiful morning fog. This was photographed just couple of kilometers from where I live. Hope you like it! The dark mood was created using one of my upcoming Lightroom presets.

Equipment & Exif

Nikon D800, Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5 - 5.6 VR

Raasepori Castle

This one is from last year when I had the pleasure to visit this unique place Raasepori Castle. It was a bit haunting to walk around this area on a quiet autumn night. I spent there couple of hours trying to find a perspective I liked, and this one was probably one of the first ones I took from there. The moonlight was quite strong to give the castle some nice texture. Hope you like it!
