You can purchase my prints directly from my print shop


CAN WE SHARE YOUR WORK?

Yes, sure you can share my work if you include my name, website: http://www.mikkolagerstedt.com and link to my Facebook page and Instagram. However, you cannot use my photos without my permission in any publication. If you want permission, please use the contact page or email.


WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION?

I mostly get inspired from the surrounding nature here in Finland. I'm also interested in movies, TV series and music.  


WHAT HAS INFLUENCED YOU TO CREATE ATMOSPHERIC PHOTOGRAPHS?

I have just recently realized, that one of the reasons I create atmospheric photographs comes from my past. Losing my best friend when I turned 20, has definitely influenced my work and how I see things surrounding us. 


WHAT KIND OF CAMERA EQUIPMENT DO YOU HAVE?

I currently have two cameras Nikon D800 and Nikon D810.
I use following lenses:

Sirui R-4203L tripod with K-40X ball head. All packed in a Lowepro ProTactic 450W backpack. 


WHAT KIND OF POST PROCESSING SOFTWARE DO YOU USE?

I mainly edit my photographs with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, and Photoshop CC. I also use plugins like Google's Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro and Color Efex Pro.
 

COMPUTER

My main computer is a PC, which I built myself with the best parts available for software like Photoshop and Lightroom. The most important computer parts for this type of usage are the memory, good graphics card, and a Solid State Drive and, of course, a decent display. These will help your workflow quite a bit. I also carry a 13" Macbook Pro with me when I'm travelling. See my Favorite Computer Equipment.
 

DID YOU STUDY PHOTOGRAPHY AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PHOTOGRAPHING?

No, I'm a self-taught photographer. I first started in December 2008 when I bought my first DSLR camera Nikon D90. 


DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR OTHER STARTING PHOTOGRAPHERS?

Keep on taking photos and eventually, you will find your vision and style. Some find it quicker than others, but there is no easy route. Here are couple of book recommendations for you:
